A leap into memories for Jessica Zimmerman, water polo athlete from Australia

“We honestly did not expect to win, and we played at our full potential”. If, for the athlete in question, the debut match against China at Palacasoria turns out to be an actual leap into memories, then victory definitely has a sweeter taste. Jessica Zimmerman, water polo athlete from the Australian team at the Napoli 2019 Universiade, has competed for four years in Italy for the water polo Serie A1, and her participation in this event marks her second time in Naples. “I never had the chance to visit this city and I hope to do it during the two days off that we have as Australian team. I love this country, its culture, its food, the people”, says the young Athlete, who dreams of the Olympics, soon to graduate in Occupational Therapy at Curtin University. “Now we want to dream, play matches at our best and get on the final podium”, she concludes before heading for the changing rooms.
