“I didn’t fear my opponents, I was focused on training and what my coach and I have worked on up until this moment here at Napoli 2019 Universiade. I was more worried about my arm injury from two weeks ago, which I recovered from thanks to rehabilitation”. The victory in the 10 m diving finals, which took place on July 4th in the Diving Centre in Mostra D’Oltremare has a sweeter taste for Alejandra M. S. Estrella, diving athlete. She just recovered from a period of physical rehabilitation and a small arm injury which could have compromised her performance at the Universiade. Fortunately, this was not the case: she just won a gold medal. Estrella is proud to represent her country and affirms to deeply love Naples: “for the warm weather that reminds me of my Mexico”. She had already been in Italy four years ago in Bolzano for a sports event. She affirms that she did not fear her competitors as she “was solely focused on achieving my goal. I am now waiting to compete with my team for synchronised diving. Concentration must be at the highest.”
