Interview with Duccio Cosi, number 12 of the Italian rugby sevens team

“The match against Canada has been a tough one, we hoped to have more ball possession, but at least we had a good defence. The only flaw I recognise is that maybe we committed too many fouls, but in the end it went for the better because we really wanted to win. Now we just hope to move to the next match, after the group stage, and then we will spare no effort” says Duccio Cosi, number 12 of the Italian rugby sevens team, athlete from Tuscany and student of Firenze University, born in 1997,  after the narrow victory against Canada during the preliminary matches which took place on July 6th at the former NATO base in Bagnoli, where the 2019 Universiade rugby sevens village is located. “Everyone has come here to win, but undoubtedly the strongest and most dangerous team is South Africa”, acknowledges the Italian athlete, who joined the Universiade for the first time and feels at home in Naples, which he has already visited for the inauguration of the sports venue some time ago. About the organisation of the Universiade in Naples he also says:” I think they did a great job in a very short time. The venues are top-class level and the fields of play are brand new. I would like to work in this sector one day, in the organisation of sports events and in the human resources management”.
