“Facing rivals is not hard but wonderful for us, because here we meet different cultures and people”, says Laura Jimena Aliotti, Argentinian rugby player

“This experience gave us so much. Being here for our first Universiade is very exciting, we have improved and we are now more united as a team and aware of our role. Facing rivals was not so hard but wonderful for us, because here we meet different cultures and people”. Therefore, it is not a coincidence if the Belgian and the Argentinian teams, both eliminated after the last match during the rugby sevens group stage, hugged each other and exchanged numbers and contacts just after the match, at the former NATO base in Bagnoli on July 6th. The words of Laura Jimena Aliotti, born in 1995 and student of the University of Physiotherapy in Flores, inspire brotherhood and the true spirit which should be present in each proper Olympic or sports competition. First time in Europe and in Italy, Naples is the first city she has ever seen out of Americas, Aliotti aims to become a physiotherapist one day and to work in the field of rugby.
