Women’s Italian water polo team at quarters with four victories, Millo: “Now we can start talking about medals”

“We do not like easy wins”, says Giulia Millo, attacker of the Italian team, after winning with a score of 9-8 against Russia: after 4 victories in 4 matches, the Italian players were able to set the record in round B of the Women’s water polo tournament at Napoli 2019. “We were winning 7-3 and decided to make our lives a bit more difficult, but today’s victory has been a great satisfaction”. All thanks to Millo, who served two assists and stole the ball to Russia in the final. “We all had a decisive role, though: I have amazing teammates and Martina (editor’s note: coach Miceli) and Mauro (editor’s note: De Paolis, assistant coach) are both exceptional trainers. Do we ever talk about medals in the locker room? We do, but we will be able to get to the top only if we build our victory step by step. The audience is on our side: it is better than we could imagine, Naples is right here, and we can feel that”. Lastly, a comment about Japan, the rival in the quarter final on Wednesday (the match has been postponed at 7:30 PM). “If we play like we did in the first part of today’s competition, we will have nothing to fear”.
