“I have lost the Men’s 80 kg final at the golden point (an overtime round held when a match finishes in a tie), but I am still happy, because God granted me the silver medal”.
Seif Eissa thanks even Allah for the second place on the Taekwondo podium, conquered in the afternoon of July 9th at Palacasoria.
His first Universiade, but not his first time in Italy – “I have been to Rome a couple of times already, also this year for a grand prix”, reminds the athlete from Egypt. Eissa studies Management and Technology in his homeland and promises to visit the Royal Palace of Caserta “as soon as I get some rest after these competitions”.
“So far, I was able to look at this gorgeous palace only from the outside, while passing nearby” explains the young Middle Eastern champion, currently residing in Caserta like many other athletes.
