“No one has been excluded in this Universiade”, Rosolino welcomes the renovation of Palacasoria, venue for Taekwondo

“It is amazing and exciting to see an abandoned sport venue such as the one in Casoria coming back to life after 10 years: just like in the case of the Scandone swimming pool, now provided with a new pool, and the one in Mostra d’Oltremare. All this is an inspiration to do more and better in the future”. This is how Massimiliano Rosolino, gold medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and special ambassador for the 2019 Universiade, welcomed the renovation of Palacasoria, on the evening of July 9th, during the early final Taekwondo matches. He described the venue as “an incentive for young and old people to play sports, and an opportunity to advertise the Region and suburban areas”. “I am satisfied”, he continued, “and excited about this Neapolitan Universiade. With these new venues we will be able to host both European and World Championships”, he assured. “The historical centre, the province and peripheral areas have all been involved, no one has been excluded” said the Olympic champion: a sentence that almost sounds like a new slogan for the FISU International University Games.
