Interview – April Lynn Fehr, women judo for USA: “University first”

“I have been lucky during this match, the opponent was strong. Now I want to do more and better, but I am not thinking about participating in Tokyo 2020 Olympics or in other tournaments. For me, university comes first, then work, and finally competitions, which make me very proud, especially since I represent my Country”.  United States’ athlete April Lynn Fehr has no doubt on her present life’s priorities, even after having defeated the German Lara Reimann during women’s 63 kg judo preliminary matches, which took place in pavilion 6 at Mostra d’Otremare in Naples.  For April, whose dream is to become a chiropractor, Napoli 2019 is the second Universiade edition after Taipei2017, where she achieved the 7th position in the 70kg weight category. She is the first athlete to show interest for the islands of the Neapolitan gulf, which she intends to visit “as soon as the matches are over. It is my first time in Italy. I want to visit Ischia, Capri and I already love this city, which I find amazing”, says April at the end of the match.
