“The girls followed my instructions very well. They remained calm and tightened the lines, playing a great match which they wonderfully won”. Riaan Van Der Merwe is the head coach of the South Africa women’s rugby sevens team in this Universiade 2019. He feels optimistic about his athletes’ path during these rounds, especially after the match against the Argentinian athletes on July 6th at the former base camp NATO in Bagnoli. “Now we aim to play at our best in future competitions”, said the South African athletes’ coach, who considered Naples as “a wonderful and amazing city that has to be admired and visited”.
