Waterpolo, France finishes nineth. Le Roux: “Universiade means to share emotions”

With 7 goals scored by Czech Republic in the ninth place finals, French striker Morgane Le Roux beautifully rounded off her Universiade. “It has been an experience of sharing with my teammates in each moment of the competition: from the changing room to the tribune and the pool itself. We had the opportunity to grow personally, make new friends and achieve new sport objectives, especially since I aspire to participate in the Paris Olympics in 2024. I hope that the Universiade made people from all over the world talk about women’s water polo: it is a sport that can give many emotions”.

Experienced goalkeeper Lorene Derenty, who is also part of the French water polo national team, echoes the words of Le Roux: “Napoli 2019 has been an experience that made us proud and through which we learned a lot. We will never forget about it, because it allowed us to relate to other teams and people from all over the world. This experience taught us that our team must never give up or stop improving”.
