Kobori Waka has won the gold medal in women’s 1500m freestyle, with a time of 16.16.38.
“I swam very fast. Halfway through the race I started feeling nervous, but I managed to put myself together and keep an eye on my opponents at the same time”.
Kobori says she received a strong support from her teammates, who were waiting for the results on Piscina Scandone’s stands.
As for her future plans, she says:
“I am going to swim in Tokyo and after that I want to join the World Cup that will take place in September. I want to reach the national standards so that I can take part in the Olympics”.
