Gold medal for Australian basketball team in women’s finals at Palabarbuto

Shannon Seebohm, coach of the Australian women’s basketball team, led his “competitive and strong” girls, as he likes to call them, to the wonderful final match won against USA.

Playing a good match from the first period to the last, strong and focused on the game, unlike their fatigued opponents who rapidly lost their concentration during the match, Australian players have won the gold medal in this Universiade 2019 at Palabarbuto in Fuorigrotta.

Plenty of gadgets (pocket-sized koalas, which have become a must-have during this Universiade) for the supporters crowding the stands. The Australian basketball team includes “high-level and expert athletes, who always play with solidity, executing perfectly my directions” reminds Shannon, at her first Universiade, and for the first time in Italy and Naples.

“Right now in our Continent it is Winter, so it has been nice to play in the warmer temperatures of this Italian summer, so special for us”, the coach underlines before leaving the interview area.
